Tabi appreciation & Review: Sou Sou Tabis

I recently bought my first pair of tabi shoes. Although it hasn't come up much on this blog, I really appreciate traditional Japanese clothing. Tabi shoes, workwear, geta and all things kimono. There is this strong theme throughout Japanese clothing that I think I can easily identify and wholeheartedly love although I can't adequately describe it. Sometimes I wonder whether it's something inherent in the clothing or if it is just the fact that I really used to like anime and manga when I was a teenager and it somehow sowed the seed deep inside.

not dead (Atelier Boz Giulietta Long OP)

Since it's been more than two month since my last post, I'd like to say that I don't intend to give up this blog.
I was studying, I was feeling a down over a sad anniversary, some of my preferences have changed. I ride my bike way too often now to wear blouses, and my nicer dresses and skirt casually. My haircut is totally unrori. I've decided to sell off a lot of the stuff in my wardrobe that's on the dressier side (for me, that is), because I don't see myself attending fancy meets any time soon. I currently struggle with hormonal acne which makes any nice clothing feel like it's wasted on me. It certainly doesn't make me want to take pictures of myself.
I'm optimistic though that things will change. So here's just some lazy mirror shots of me wearing the gorgeous Atelier Boz Giulietta Long OP looking like I'm attending this blog's funeral.

Nun Lolita: Then & Now

Mana in Moitie, Gothic and Lolita Bible #10
The influence of Christian symbolism and clothing on lolita fashion is nearly as old as lolita fashion itself. Nun lolita was a common theme in the early 2000s. Especially Moi-meme-Moitie and Atelier Boz used to release these very minimalist dresses and Boz still does release them looking just like they did back then.

2016 Wardrobe and some plans for 2016

I'm a little sorry I haven't posted in such a long time. I'm not dead, I've just been busy with a lot of things, Christmas being one of them and college the other. And then I also haven't done or bought much that would warrant posting about it here.

Last weekend however I finally managed to take pictures for the yearly wardrobe post over at egl. Looking at those posts was one of the things that rekindled my interest in the fashion and actually made me buy my first lolita dress. Which was Ista Mori's Nameless Poem in black, unfortunately it was too small. So naturally I had to make a post myself but I quickly realized just how much work it really is and I somewhat half-assed it on the accessories, bags, shoes, jewelry and I didn't even include socks and tights. If you're interested in seeing it anyway follow this link.

Review: h.Naoto Gramm fetus shoulder bag & brain purse

If you've seen my first post it was about guro lolita and my ideas to go beyond the blood covered white dress. I also mention a h.Naoto Gramm bag shaped like a fetus. As you can probably tell by the picture above: They re-released it and I bought it. But this time it came only in black. (Thanks buttcape).

Lolita 52 : 5 more movies for Lolitas (and Oujis)

Without further ado, I love movies and I decided to do this Lolita 52 topic again. Since I saw and remembered more movies that really fit the theme. Now that I've being doing this the second time I think I got a good idea of what I associate with the lolita fashion: historic costumes, introverted girls and escapism into fantasy worlds.

Review (kind of): the Excentrique Abyss

Looking for Excentrique corset vests I've had my eyes on second hand markets for a while now. I've been specifically looking for the most iconic cut (seen above) and a solid black colorway, no extra bits or patterns on it. Unfortunately I'm not the only one who likes that simple look and the few vests like this that did turn up where sold out quicker than I could buy them. So I finally gave up and gave in. I bought one new. And then another one.
